Ability to accept tutoring jobs on short notice, unless prior notification of interrupted service is given.
Ability to communicate effectively and regularly with both clients and the STAR Tutoring office.
BONUS
Understanding of learning disabilities.
Understanding of emotional concerns.
Degree in Education.
Advanced degree, esp. in subject tutored.
If you meet the standard requirements listed above, have a heart and talent for working with children and/or adults, and believe through superior role modeling and guidance you can make a difference in a struggling student's life, we would like to hear from you.
Once accepted as a Specialty Tutor, your webpage will be posted online and you be able to accept referrals.
Initially, the director consults with a prospective client or parent to become familiar with the client's needs and to make a match with the appropriate tutor. If you are deemed a match, your initial session will be arranged by the director according to availability you have specified and an e-mail notification of session date and time will be sent to you.
As an independent contractor, you have the freedom to select your own tutoring materials, methods, and modify the tutoring schedule with your client as needed.
The hourly rate for Specialty Tutors is $18. Because tutors can report mileage to the IRA each year, we do not reimburse mileage expenses.
